Meeting of the Executive Committee- Hovedbestyrelsen

The first executive committee meeting of DSR’s executive meeting (‘hovedbestyrelse’) was held on 21 September. The following was discussed at the meeting (abridged version of Danish minutes):

Student Council – Young people take responsibility

The Student Council had sent two representatives to the meeting to tell the meeting about a current student movement called ‘Young people take responsibility’ (Danish: Unge ta'r ansvar). The object is to make students aware of the reductions and cut-backs that are expected if the ”Restoration package” is passed in its present form.

Local and regional activities are planned. The culmination will be a demonstration on 5 October to coincide with the opening of the Danish parliament. All students and staff are invited to take place. Posters will be put up around campus.

MSc Intro Day

For the first time this year a joint intro day was held for new Danish and international MSc students. This was a success and will be repeated next year.

Cutbacks

Brief information about the financial situation at LIFE and the entire university.

Thefts

At the moment, there is a great number of thefts at the campus area. The possibilities of extra surveillance were discussed. Please keep your eyes and ears open and remember to lock doors.
