KUnet celebrates one-year birthday

Friday 12 August marked the one-year anniversary of the launch of KUnet – the University’s common intranet. After a few start-up difficulties, the intranet is slowly but surely becoming a part of the daily routine for students and staff.

One of the primary reasons for establishing KUnet was to make it easier to find relevant information and useful tools and systems. The intranet had almost seven million page views its first year, an indication that the University population has taken KUnet to heart.

Birthday cakeThe busiest day in KUnet’s brief history was Monday 31 January, where 43,797 made their way on to the intranet reading a combined 94,968 pages.

English site also popular

The English front page on KUnet is on average the fourth most visited page on the intranet. Another popular spot is The Back Page, which is constantly being developed.

On The Back Page you will find the Marketplace, and one of the new additions called the Bulletin Board, where you will find good deals, information on new websites and exciting events. If you want something posted on the Bulletin Board or perhaps photos from around KU, which can be seen on the front of The Back Page, send an e-mail to .

Even though a year has passed since its launch, KUnet is still far from being complete. Many faculties and departments are still building their own local sites and in the upcoming year a host of new education-based sites will be launched in both Danish and English.
