University of Copenhagen to strengthen plant science, chemistry and economics!

In the near future, the University will look into how plant science, chemistry and economics, respectively, can be strengthened. This has become obvious after the  Board of University of Copenhagen, at a closed meeting last week, approved a memorandum on how co-operation in a number of disciplines across the University can be strengthened following the 2007 merger between University of Copenhagen, Denmark’s Pharmaceutical University and the Royal Danish Agricultural and Veterinary University.

You can read more about the decision at www.KUnet.dk. In the article at KUnet, Prorector Thomas Bjørnholm explains what the Executive Management hopes to obtain. You will also be able to find the memorandum that the Board considered last week.

Dean at LIFE, Per Holten-Andersen fully realises that this statement will give rise to a large number of questions - especially for those directly affected. Therefore, he will be taking part in meeting at the departments affected in the nearest future. Meetings will also be held with the Faculty Collaboration Committee (in Danish abbreviated FSU) and LIFE’s students, as an effort will be made to gather the chairmen of the student unions and associations as quickly as possible.

At the information meetings, Per Holten-Andersen will tell staff and students what he knows at this point of time, and there will be an the opportunity to ask about matters about which there might be uncertainty.

Otherwise, the matter will be followed up in eLIFE. So if you have any questions, you are always welcome to send them to the editors at .
