University of Copenhagen Commemoration on 18 November

The annual University of Copenhagen Commemoration ceremony takes place on Friday 18 November from 1.45 p.m. to 4.00 p.m.

 

The ceremony consists of different speeches, announcements and award presentations, like the annual Teacher of the Year Award and the International Study Environment Award.

 

The university Big Band MI22, the The University Choir Lille MUKO and the The Copenhagen University Choir provide musical entertainmet as usual. Besides, the Danish String Quartet will give a special performance at this year's commemoration.

 

About  the Commemoration

The University of Copenhagen was founded in 1479 and has since then celebrated its foundation with an annual Commemoration.

 

Here, it is tradition that doctors and honorary doctors are appointed, and gold and silver medals are given out to students that have answered the faculties' award assignments. The teaching award "Harald of the year" and The International study environment award are also given out at the Commemoration.

 

The Queen and the Prince Consort are present at the celebrations.
