Per Holten-Andersen becomes rector at CBS
Dean Per Holten-Andersen has been named new rector at Copenhagen Business School (CBS). Niels Elers Koch will therefore be appointed temporary dean of the Faculty of Life Sciences from 1 January 2012.
On 28 October Per Holten-Andersen sent the following mail to all staff and students:
Dear employees and all students,
I am writing to tell you that I will be stepping down as Dean of LIFE on 31 December 2011 to take up the position as Rector of CBS on 1 January 2012.
I am, of course, sorry to be making this move at the present time given the monumental changes currently taking place at LIFE. Firstly, it may potentially be a source of additional worry for some. Secondly, I would have preferred to support and help realise the ambitions that exist for the two new faculties of which LIFE will become a part. And until a few days ago, I had every intention of participating in that role.
But then I was offered the job as Rector of CBS … a dream position which I could not turn down; so this is what I will be doing from 1 January next year.
I will, of course, be completely devoted to LIFE until I step down, among other things spending time handing over the reins to Niels Elers Koch, who has been appointed acting Dean of LIFE by Rector Ralf Hemmingsen from 1 January until 31 December 2012. I am very pleased about this, and I am convinced that this altogether will ensure a very good faculty management.
But as said above, I will be around for a bit longer. Nevertheless, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for having had the opportunity, together with you, to create a fantastic workplace and an outstanding research and educational environment over the past ten years. I think we have a lot to be proud of.
Thank you.
Kind regards/Per Holten-Andersen
Dean of LIFE
Ps. All employees and students will, of course, be invited to a farewell reception. The date will be announced in eLIFE.
