LIFE gets new director

The Faculty Director at SCIENCE, Marianne Rønnebæk, has just accepted the position as acting faculty director at LIFE while at the same time continuing as director at SCIENCE. She will take up the job at LIFE as from 1 October and has been appointed for an interim period until the end of 2011. In this period she will divide her time equally between LIFE and SCIENCE.

As is well known, LIFE has been without a faculty director since the middle of August this year. Therefore, the Dean is pleased to have made this agreement with Marianne Rønnebæk:

“In our present situation, it is of course extremely important that we have a director at LIFE. Marianne is very competent, has great insight into our area and already knows many members of staff at LIFE. I am therefore very pleased that she has accepted the temporary appointment as director at LIFE at short notice while at the same time performing her job as the faculty director at SCIENCE”.

Marianne Rønnebæk has more than 25 years’ management experience from central government, and has been faculty director at SCIENCE over the last four years. Before she joined University of Copenhagen, she worked at the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (VTU) where she has filled several senior management positions, one of the most recent being in the department for cross-sector international activities, and in the period from 2000 to 2006 as director of the Ministry’s ICT area. Prior to her appointments in The Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (VTU), she worked for a number of years as permanent undersecretary and chief of section in the Ministry of Environment and Energy.

Mariannne Rønnebæk holds a MA Econ. from University of Copenhagen (1977) and has two children.
