Large growth in number of visitors to the Faculty Library
In recent years, the Library has taken various initiatives to become more attractive for as a place for study activities.
Weekend opening was introduced in the autumn of 2009, and also in 2009, the number of individual study places was increased so that today there are around 250 study places. Moreover, the areas for group work and for more relaxed social activities in the sofas and at the café tables have been extended too.
A survey for 2010 shows that the number of visitors to the Library has increased by 22,000 compared to 2009, a fine increase of 17 per cent. Compared to 2008, the increase is 35 per cent, which is impressive.
The survey also shows that during a normal weekend, around 150 people visit the Library. In the exam periods, this number grows to around 330 visitors and it is increasing… In the weekend of 22 and 23 January, the Library had 694 visitors, the highest number of visitors ever registered!
We are of course happy to see that the students are using the Library and that it is one of their favourite places to study and meet their study groups – even though, admittedly, the sound level, of course, also increases with the growing number of visitors.
