What do I do if a student does not qualify for examination because of absence?
In many of the new exams, students are only able to pass the exam if they attend the course. This, among other things, applies to portfolio exams or continuous assessment.
If, at one point, a student has been absent from so many classes/lectures (or otherwise fails to meet the requirements) that this will make it impossible for him/her to pass the exam, the student should be advised about this (preferably before things go wrong).
If a student does not meet the requirements for being entered for the exam, Study and Students’ Affairs must be notified of this as early as possible and not later than two whole days before the exam.
