Additional funding

Second world war bunker art at the west coast

Sometimes it is necessary to apply for additional funding besides your basic scholarship or external funding. There are several sources available depending on the amount needed.

The private grant market is dominated by small (less than DKK 10,000) grants, usually aimed at (partially) covering travel expenses or tuition fees at foreign universities or conferences. Most often the information material is in Danish only, but do not hesitate to apply.

Larger research grants can be applied for at the Danish Agency for Science, Technology and Innovation, but such funds are usually restricted to senior researchers, which means that you have to talk to your supervisor about it. Below you will find a few links on alternative funding sources:

  • EliteForsk travel grants to talented PhD students in Denmark (DKK 250,000 for travel expenses). The Danish Agency for Science, Technology and Innovation administers this grant.
