Merger now a reality - 01.01.2007
The merger between the former Royal Veterinary and Agricultural University,
The Danish University of Pharmaceutical Sciences and the University of
Copenhagen is now a reality.
As a consequence, KVL has changed its name to the Faculty of Life Sciences.
The University of Copenhagen is now the largest university in Scandinavia
in number of researchers with more than 5,500 researchers and 37,000
students.
The vision has been to create Denmark's most
prominent and internationally oriented university. The University of
Copenhagen now consists of 8 faculties and at the same time comprises
Europe's largest university cluster within Health and Life Sciences.
Health and Life Sciences is research into all that lives -
plants, animals and humans - with a particular focus on the prevention
and curing of diseases.
