LIFE students win International Study Environment Award - 30.11.2010

The Faculty’s student organisation, The LIFE Students’ Association, in Danish abbreviated DSR, was presented with the International Study Environment Award 2010 at this year’s annual University Commemoration Ceremony.

By providing a well-organised intro programme, a mentor scheme and a special international room, the Life Students’ Association, DSR, has set new standards for a social study environment that does not distinguish between international and Danish students.

This is the reason why they were given the International Study Environment Award 2010 – in fierce competition with others who have also made successful efforts in the international field.

Valuable initiative

When presenting the award to DSR’s international coordinator Eskild Hohlmann Bennetzen at the Commemoration Ceremony, Rector of University of Copenhagen Ralph Hemmingsen said:

‘Evaluations show that the international students are very pleased with the academic standards at University of Copenhagen. But many of the international students feel that it is difficult to make friends and settle down in Denmark. Therefore, the initiatives taken at the Faculty of Life Sciences is very valuable’

The award is accompanied by DKK 100,000 which DSR will use to further improve the international study environment, including the international room.
