Studying at the Faculty

What is it like to study at the Faculty of Life Sciences ?

Why choose LIFE- The Faculty of Life Sciences

BSc and MSc programmes in Danish

LIFE has a number of degree programmes that are currently offered in Danish only.

Applied biology is a common denominator for the degree programmes and courses at the Faculty of Life Sciences, whether the student’s interest is in healthy foods, animal welfare, biotechnology, pets, tasty fruits, forest development, economics, the environment of the future, ecology, developing countries or other related subject areas.

International standards

The faculty’s degree programmes follow international standards for university education and are divided into three-year bachelor’s and two-year master’s programmes, and a three-year research programme (PhD). The programmes are flexible, which means that several different master’s programmes are available after the bachelor’s degree.

Global vision

The Faculty of Life Sciences has had an international focus for many years. This also applies to our educational efforts.

15 per cent of all students come from abroad and our own students are very well positioned to go abroad and study. We work with universities throughout the world.

This means that our students can go practically wherever they want to. Around 75 per cent of our MSc courses and a number of entire degree programmes are taught in English.

This helps to equip our students for the increasing globalisation of the labour market with which they will subsequently have to deal.

Varied studies

The form and content of the faculty's degree programmes are regularly improved to cover the needs of Denmark and the international community.

The faculty has recently implemented a course reform which means greater flexibility and freedom of choice for the master’s degree combined with a more planned start to studies.

Instead of two semesters, the academic year is divided into four blocks. The form of teaching has also been revised so that students now have a number of full topics and are able to concentrate on fewer subjects at a time.

The Faculty of Life Sciences makes extensive use of IT to support teaching.

Denmark's best university campus environment

The Faculty of Life Sciences has one of the oldest and most attractive campuses in Denmark, helping to make the faculty an attractive and inspiring place to study.

This also affects our students’ social life and sense of community.
