Get ready for study start on 6 September with:

 

• KUnet, Absalon, STADS Self Service and Netforum
• 2 Email addresses: 1 KU email and 1 LIFE (DSR) email

 

It is very important that you set up the email accounts and log on to the information systems!

 

Below we give you a brief introduction  to the various information systems and facilities that are necessary for you as a student. We also explain how to access them.

We strongly recommend that you carefully read the pamphlet: Introduction to IT for Students at LIFE.

 

 

KUnet og Absalon

KU Intranet KUnet: (NB! will become available on 12 August and will be for all of University of  Copenhagen)

On KUnet you will find information related to all of University of Copenhagen, such as courses that are offered at other faculties, information on student ID cards...etc. Via your KU email that you set up on KUnet you will get information and updates concerning all of University of Copenhagen.

 

Absalon: Absalon is a communications network for teachers and students. You log on to Absalon via KUnet on the homepage of KU (short for University of Copenhagen): www.ku.dk. On Absalon you will find all the courses that you are registered for. Here you will find all teaching schedules and in some cases the teacher's notes for class (after the class). 

 

 

How to access the sites: KUnet and Absalon KUnet is KU's new intranet that will become accessible after 12 August 2010. You get access to KUnet and Absalon with the user name and pincode that you will receive from KU. You log on to Absalon via KUnet.   On KUnet you must set up your KU email account. You will receive information on how to set up this email account in a letter from KU. Via this email adress you will get information concerning all of KU. STADS Self Service and Netforum 

STADS Self Service: This is the site where you register for and cancel courses and exams. You can also see the results of your exams and download transcripts of grades. On the webpage Deadlines and Registration Dates you will find all deadlines and registration dates for courses, exams...etc. 

 

Netforum: Netforum is the students' own website. From this site you will be able to access your LIFE (DSR) email account, your files and your homepage...etc. This is also the site where you can find information on the LIFE Student Unions and get in touch with your fellow students.

 

 

How to access the sites: STADS Self Service and Netforum In the admission letter that you receive from us no later than 15 July, you will find your student ID and your pincode. To accept your student place you use your student ID and pincode to log on to the homepage: www.studystart.life.ku.dk. After log on, you can set up a user name, an email address (xxx @ dsr.life.ku.dk), a new pincode and accept the conditions for use of the IT systems at LIFE (such as the wireless network).    You must use this new user name and pincode to log on to  Netforum og STADS Self Service. You will receive important information from the faculty throughout your studies via your LIFE (DSR) email, so please check it regularly.
