Application procedures for studies abroad
1. How do I apply?
Download a brief overview of the application process for studies in Europe and overseas.
1.1 Europe (NOVA/Nordplus or Erasmus) or EU-Canada/Russia partnerships
- The Nordic countries and Baltic countries (NOVA/BOVA network):
Read more about your opportunities on NOVA's homepage.
To apply for a study period, follow the instructions for incoming exchange students at the host university. If you are in doubt about where to find this information on the host university's homepage, contact the local NOVA coordinator at the host university.
To apply for financial support during your study period, fill in the LIFE Nordplus application and send it to the Secretariat for Internationalisation.
- Europe = Erasmus
Please note that incomplete applications (without the required enclosures or not completely filled in) cannot be processed!
1.2 Overseas (outside Europe)
If you want to study overseas, you have to apply online through the online application system called Phoenix.
- Log on to Phoenix through your KUnet e-mail using your personal username and password (all LIFE students should have recieved this, but if you cannot find it you can apply for access).
- Go to "Selvbetjening studerende" > "Studieophold i udlandet" > "Ansøg her".
- It is possible to apply for up to three universities.
- You have to upload a letter of motivation, which can be in either Danish or English, for your first priority. It should be no more than 1-2 A4 pages long and contain a paragraph (approximately ½ A4 page) about your second and third priorities (see point 3 below).
In 2010, the deadline for application is September 15 at 12pm.
2. Credits
You must apply for pre-approval of study activities abroad. Upon your return, you must apply for credit transfer. Read more about the credit transfer procedures or contact for more information.
Note: The Secretariat for Internationalisation cannot advise you on credit transfer. Please contact the Secretariat for Study Boards and Study Committees, which you find on the ground floor of the main building in Study and Students' Affairs.
