NOVA/Nordplus Application procedures for studying abroad

1. How do I apply?   

The Nordic countries and Baltic countries (NOVA/BOVA network):

 

- Read more about your opportunities on NOVA's homepage.


- If you have questions, contact Student Services.


- To apply for a study period, follow the instructions for incoming exchange students at the host university. If you are in doubt about where to find this information on the host university's homepage, contact the local NOVA coordinator at the host university.


- To apply for financial support during your study period, download the LIFE Nordplus application from the Funding page. Read the application form carefully and prepare all the necessary enclosures:

 

  • Copy of LIFE (University of Copenhagen) transcript
  • Letter of motivation - You have to write a letter of motivation, which can be in either Danish or English, for your first priority (no matter whether it is overseas or in Europe). It should be no more than 1-2 A4 pages long and contain a paragraph (approximately ½ A4 page) about your second and third priorities. In the letter, you can describe:
    • Your choice of host university 
    •  The academic contents and what you expect to learn during your stay
    • The relevance of the stay to your studies
    • What you expect to derive personally from the stay
    • Copy of letter of admission from host institution or copy of application to host institution
    • Documentation of pre-approval or copy of application for pre-approval.

 

  • For students going to SLU: Solemn Declaration stating that you will be living in the host country during the entire period of study.

 

  • Note: The Secretariat for Internationalisation cannot advise you on credit transfer. Please contact the Secretariat for Study Boards and Study Committees, which you find on the ground floor of the main building in Study and Students' Affairs.


-Submit your LIFE Nordplus application to the Secretariat for Internationalisation, Bülowsvej 17. 


- If your application is approved, the Secretariat for Internationalisation will send you a grant letter, a letter of confirmation and a contract with instructions on how to proceed to receive your Nordplus grant.


- Remember to explore the possibilities of language courses.
