What can I study abroad?

Student

When you have made the decision to study abroad, you need to consider what form your studies should take. There are several possibilities:

· Internships

· Thesis/Fieldwork

· Summer schools/clinics

· Exchange

Your choice will depend in part on why you have decided to study abroad. Do you want to spend a whole semester or year abroad because you want to immerse yourself in a new culture and language on a longer term basis while you pursue your studies? Or is a shorter summer school more feasible for you? What fits best into your programme (when and where)?

Find out more:

  • Read LIFE's Study Abroad webpages and other relevant webpages such as the University of Copenhagen's study abroad webpage (in Danish only), the Danish Agency for International Education's Grib Verden (in Danish only) or read more about studying abroad at the international exchange site EDU-Danmark.
  • If you would like to know where other students have studied abroad, student testimonials in Danish are available at KU's website. You can also read testimonials from several LIFE students who have studied abroad (see "Student Testimonials" and "The Erasmus Experiences".) Reports by LIFE students who have studied abroad can also be found in the Student Services office.
  • Talk to students who have studied abroad and talk to the teaching staff. They may have experiences with and connections to partner institutions abroad and be able to give you advice.
  • Attend study abroad events. These are advertised regularly under News on the Study Abroad webpage and by Student Services.
